Report From Buffalo New York
Make A Wish Bass Tournament
Fishing for the most part was slow, with few anglers boasting about
numbers of fish caught. I believe Brian and I landed nine bass, culling
two five pounders resulting in our twobest fish weighing in at 10.98
pounds which was enough to secure a seventh placefinish out of 146 boats.
For those who've not been to Erie at this time of year, a typical day
on the water results in 30 plus fish. A lot of the local guys, who I
know fairly well, have been reporting a pretty slow bite this season.
That being said, Brian and I were pretty please with our showing this
year. I highly recommend anyone to make the tripto Erie in May; specifically
for this phenomenal event which helps support a great
cause - the Make A Wish Foundation of Western New York. All our fish
came on MIZMO 4" Big Boy Tubes; Smokey Red was the ticket. We dished
the waters out from Meyers, a large main lake point some 9 miles west
of Buffalo pretty much all tournament; fewer bites focusing on a bit
deeper water than most other competitors(average 30 feet) this weekend,
but well worth it boating four fish in five pound class Saturday!
